Spotlight on Steak

The 7-Bone Steak

 

Named for the naturally occuring “7” shape in the bone (caused by cross-cutting the shoulder blade), the 7-Bone steak boasts a portion of the popular flat-iron steak along with a generous portion of chuck steak.

 

This is tough cut of meat and is traditionally braised, however, with an overnight marinade, this steak grills, with  fantastically flavorful results.

 

 

Suggested Marinade:

 

3/4 cup Soy Sauce

(or the common amino acid substitue works great as well!)

3/4 cup Honey

2 TBS minced garlic

1 TBS freshly grated ginger - optional

 

Let this steak marinate overnight!

If you give us 24 hrs notice Barb’s will marinate for you!

 

Note:

This steak is a tough cut of meat...it has AMAZING flavor, but needs a little care while cooking.  Grill, after marinating, on low-medium heat! (If you grill this on a super hot grill, it will most likely chew like leather.) Also, a low-medium heat will help the cook not burn the honey while the steak cooks.
